Street Design were specified to manufacture and supply the outdoor furniture for a courtyard area ouside one of the many cafes within the Loughborough University campus. The existing courtyard consisted of a large block paved area, with buildings on 3 sides. An existing low level brick wall was to be included into the scheme. Planters, seating, tables, screens and pergola structure were to be included, creating soft planting areas with outdoor seating allowing customers the opertunity to drink and dine oudoors.
The product designs were based on our Grenadier planter range and were supplied in FSC©-certified treated redwood. All products were supplied to sit on the existing ground level, reducing installation costs and allowing flexibility to easily relocate the products when required.

This combination of three planter units was designed to tie in with the existing timber edging formed around two mature trees. The idea was to help integrate the new planting areas with the existing landscape features.
These units were manufactured using 195x95mm section timbers laid flat
Two different height planter modules were created and the angular shape was to ease pedestrian access to the cafe when diagonally crossing the courtyard
The raised planter walls were laid directly on the existing paved surfacing

This combination unit consists of three elements. Two face to face planter/bench/screen/pergola modules have been located either side of a table/decking module.
All three elements were moved into postion using a pallet truck.
This structure allows cafe customers to meet and eat outdoors with the addition of privacy screening and overhead shade.

Utilising the existing low brick wall, Street Design manufactured and supplied Grenadier planter walling, installed in front of the brick wall craeting a linear low level planting area. The walling also included some vertical features, creating screening and providing support for climbing plants.
The Pergola structure creates a strong visual element in the long run of low level planting.
All timbers were FSC-Certified treated Redwood.
