Environmental Policy Statement

In pursuance of Street Designs Policy Aims and Objectives, we will: –

  • Meet all the relevant legislation, regulations, government guidance and industry codes of practice on environmental issues.
  • Ensure that all our staff has a good understanding of the environmental impacts of our business and what they are expected to do to minimise these impacts.
  • Make efficient use of natural resources by minimising waste and conserving energy and water. Wherever reasonably practicable, use renewable materials.
  • Investigate and implement where appropriate the use and maintenance of modern and efficient modes of transport, which have reduced impact on the environment, and reduce unnecessary travel.
  • Ensure that our sub-contractors and suppliers are aware of this policy and encourage them to apply similar environmental policies in their own work.
  • Report quarterly to the Board, on environmental performance. We shall reduce our environmental impact through improvements in: –
  • Measuring and seeking to reduce the amount of waste produced.
  • Agreeing and implementing awareness training for all members of staff.
  • Measuring and seeking to reduce the consumption of electricity.
  • Measuring vehicle emissions, with a view to seeking reduction of air pollution.
  • Seeking to eliminate infringements of the Environmental Regulations.

Street Design recognises its responsibility to the environment, its clients, employees and suppliers to obtain timber only from sustainable and well managed sources. On a continuous basis suppliers will be monitored as to their environmental practices and sources of timber supplies. We are committed to only using timber from legal sources. All FSC® Certified softwood is obtained with documentation as to the origin and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council®. All hardwood is obtained with documentation as to the origin and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council®. The species of FSC®-Certified hardwood is available subject to section sizes and availability. The Technical director has the responsibility for the implementation of this policy and all employees involved with purchasing timber are given directives to act in accordance with this policy. Objectives and targets have been established to achieve continuous improvements in environmental performance.
